Ramatekno Generative AI Policy

RAMATEKNO recognizes that generative AI and AI-assisted technologies are increasingly used in scholarly communication. This policy, informed by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), aims to promote transparency, research integrity, accountability, and responsible use of AI throughout the publication process. The Editorial Board of RAMATEKNO will periodically review and update this policy in response to technological developments and evolving publishing standards.

For Authors

Authors may use GenAI and AI-assisted technologies to improve language, organize manuscripts, explore literature, assist with coding, and support appropriate research activities.

Authors must review and verify all AI-assisted content before submission. AI must not be used to fabricate or falsify data, results, references, figures, or other research content. AI-generated references must be verified against the original sources.

When AI is used substantively in manuscript preparation or as part of the research methodology, authors should disclose its use and describe its role appropriately. AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.

Disclosure

Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation or research. The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and describe its purpose.

Routine spelling, punctuation, and basic grammar correction do not normally require disclosure.

A recommended statement is:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [AI TOOL] to assist with [PURPOSE]. The authors reviewed and verified the AI-assisted output and take full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript.”

When AI is part of the research methodology, its use should also be described in the Methods section.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related materials. Unpublished manuscripts, manuscript excerpts, or confidential information must not be uploaded to public or unauthorized generative AI tools.

AI must not replace the reviewer's independent assessment or judgment. Reviewers remain responsible for the content and recommendations of their review reports.

 

For Editors

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and editorial materials. Public or unauthorized generative AI tools tools must not be used to evaluate confidential manuscripts or make editorial decisions.

Editorial decisions must remain based on independent human judgment, the peer-review process, and RAMATEKNO's editorial and ethical standards.

Policy Compliance

Misuse of generative AI tools, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, undisclosed substantive use, or breach of confidentiality, may be investigated in accordance with RAMATEKNO's publication ethics procedures.

RAMATEKNO may take appropriate action based on the nature and severity of the violation.

RAMATEKNO will periodically review and update this policy to reflect developments in AI technologies and scholarly publishing practices.
