Publication Ethics

Statement

Ramatekno is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity in all stages of the publication process. The journal follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) GUIDELINES ON GOOD PUBLICATION PRACTICE and applies appropriate ethical standards to authors, editors, reviewers, and other parties involved in scholarly publishing.

Ramatekno is committed to ensuring that all manuscripts are evaluated fairly, transparently, and objectively. Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution of the manuscript, without discrimination based on authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, ethnicity, or other personal characteristics.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, peer review manipulation, conflicts of interest that are not properly disclosed, or other forms of research and publication misconduct.

 

Academic Integrity Principles

Ramatekno upholds the following principles of academic integrity:

1. Originality. Manuscripts must present original scholarly work and must not have been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
2. Honesty. Authors must report research methods, data, results, and interpretations accurately and transparently.
3. Transparency. Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and other circumstances that may affect the integrity of the publication process.
4. Accountability. All individuals involved in the publication process are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
5. Fairness. Editorial and peer review decisions must be based on academic and scientific considerations.
6. Confidentiality. Information contained in submitted manuscripts must be treated confidentially and must not be used for personal or professional advantage.
7. Respect for intellectual property. Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and obtain permission when required for the use of copyrighted material.

 

Research Integrity and Publication Misconduct

Ramatekno considers the following practices to constitute research or publication misconduct:

1. Plagiarism, including the use of another person's ideas, words, data, figures, or other intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgment.
2. Fabrication, including the invention of data, results, participants, experiments, or other research information.
3. Falsification, including manipulation, alteration, omission, or selective reporting of research data or results.
4. Duplicate or redundant publication, including substantial publication of the same research findings in more than one journal without appropriate disclosure and justification.
5. Inappropriate text recycling or self-plagiarism when substantial previously published material is reused without appropriate acknowledgment.
6. Ghost authorship, guest authorship, honorary authorship, or other inappropriate attribution of authorship.
7. Manipulation of the peer review process, including the submission of fraudulent reviewer identities or attempts to influence reviewers improperly.
8. Citation manipulation, including excessive or irrelevant citation intended primarily to increase the citation metrics of authors or the journal.
9. Undisclosed conflicts of interest that could influence the research or publication process.
10. Inappropriate manipulation or fabrication of images, figures, tables, or other research materials.

Allegations of misconduct may be raised before or after publication. Ramatekno will assess allegations seriously and may request clarification or supporting documentation from the authors, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties. Where appropriate, the journal may follow relevant COPE flowcharts and seek assistance from the authors' institutions or other competent authorities.

 

Complaints and Appeals

Ramatekno provides a mechanism for authors and other stakeholders to submit complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions, peer review, publication procedures, ethical issues, or the conduct of editors and reviewers.

Complaints should be submitted through the journal's official contact channel and should include sufficient information to identify the manuscript or publication and clearly explain the concern.

Appeals against editorial decisions must provide a clear academic or procedural justification. Appeals based solely on disagreement with an editorial decision, without substantive justification, may not be considered.

Complaints and appeals will be handled fairly, confidentially, and without retaliation. The journal will investigate complaints according to the nature of the issue and may consult independent editors, reviewers, institutional authorities, or relevant COPE guidance when necessary.

 

Ethical Oversight

Ramatekno requires research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal information, or other ethically sensitive materials to comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Where applicable, authors must obtain approval from an appropriate research ethics committee or institutional review board before conducting the research. Authors should provide relevant ethical approval information in the manuscript.

For research involving human participants, authors must ensure appropriate informed consent and protection of participants' privacy and confidentiality.

For research involving animals, authors must demonstrate compliance with applicable institutional, national, and international standards for animal welfare.

The journal may request evidence of ethical approval, informed consent, or other relevant documentation when necessary.

 

Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are expected to maintain accurate research data and supporting materials sufficient to verify the reported findings.

Where appropriate and subject to ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property restrictions, authors should make underlying data, datasets, codes, software, analytical procedures, or other relevant research materials available to support verification and reproducibility.

Authors must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or selectively conceal data in a manner that misrepresents the research findings.

When data cannot be made publicly available, authors should provide a clear explanation of the applicable restrictions.

The journal encourages authors to follow relevant reporting standards and discipline-specific practices for transparent and reproducible research. These principles are consistent with COPE's guidance on data and reproducibility.

 

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship must reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript.

All listed authors must:

1. Have made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, methodology, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, or other significant intellectual aspects of the research.
2. Have contributed to drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
3. Have approved the final version of the manuscript.
4. Accept responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of their contributions and participate appropriately in addressing questions concerning the work.

Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors.

Guest authorship, honorary authorship, and ghost authorship are not permitted.

Changes to the author list after submission or publication require justification and agreement from all affected authors. The journal may request documentation before approving an authorship change.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript and that authorship and contribution information is accurate. These practices are consistent with COPE's authorship and contributorship principles.

 

Conflict of Interest and Funding Transparency

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their judgment.

Authors must disclose all relevant sources of financial support, including research grants, institutional funding, commercial sponsorship, or other forms of support.

Funding information should identify the funding organization and, where applicable, the grant or project number.

The existence of funding or a conflict of interest does not automatically constitute grounds for rejection. However, undisclosed conflicts that may affect the integrity of the research or editorial process may result in further investigation or corrective action.

Editors and reviewers must decline involvement in manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest that could compromise their objectivity.

Ramatekno follows COPE principles concerning the disclosure and management of competing interests.

 

Citation Integrity

Authors must provide accurate, relevant, and appropriate citations for previous research, data, methods, theories, and other intellectual contributions that have influenced their work.

Citations must be included for scholarly relevance and must not be added solely to increase citation counts.

Authors must avoid excessive self-citation, excessive citation of articles from the journal, citation stacking, honorary citations, or other practices intended primarily to manipulate citation metrics.

Editors and reviewers must not require authors to add citations solely to increase the citation impact of themselves, other individuals, or the journal.

Citation decisions should be based on the scholarly relevance and contribution of the cited work. COPE identifies citation manipulation as an unethical practice when citations are used primarily to distort citation metrics.

 

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of Ramatekno are responsible for:

1. Evaluating manuscripts based on academic quality, originality, relevance, and methodological rigor.
2. Ensuring that editorial decisions are fair, objective, and independent.
3. Selecting qualified reviewers who have appropriate expertise.
4. Protecting the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and peer review information.
5. Managing conflicts of interest appropriately.
6. Ensuring that allegations of research or publication misconduct are taken seriously and investigated appropriately.
7. Maintaining the integrity of the published scholarly record.
8. Providing authors with reasonable opportunities to appeal editorial decisions.
9. Ensuring that corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other post-publication actions are issued when warranted.
10. Preventing commercial, personal, institutional, or other interests from improperly influencing editorial decisions.
11. Ensuring that peer review procedures are conducted consistently and transparently.
12. Seeking advice from the publisher, editorial board, institutional authorities, or COPE when an ethical issue cannot be resolved through normal editorial procedures.

These responsibilities are aligned with COPE's guidance for journal editors and its Core Practices.

 

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to Ramatekno are responsible for:

1. Ensuring that the manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted simultaneously elsewhere.
2. Reporting research methods and findings accurately.
3. Providing sufficient methodological information to support assessment and, where possible, reproducibility.
4. Obtaining appropriate ethical approval and informed consent when required.
5. Properly acknowledging the contributions and sources of other researchers.
6. Ensuring that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship requirements.
7. Obtaining approval from all authors before submission and publication.
8. Disclosing relevant conflicts of interest and funding sources.
9. Making supporting data and materials available when appropriate and legally and ethically permissible.
10. Responding appropriately and promptly to editorial or reviewer requests for clarification.
11. Cooperating with investigations concerning potential research or publication misconduct.
12. Informing the journal promptly if a significant error is discovered in a published article.
13. Disclosing the use of AI or AI-assisted technologies in accordance with the journal's AI policy.

 

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

1. Evaluate manuscripts objectively, independently, and constructively.
2. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts.
3. Accept review assignments only when they have appropriate expertise and sufficient time to complete the review.
4. Disclose any conflict of interest before accepting or completing a review.
5. Inform the editor if they identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, manipulated images, or other forms of misconduct.
6. Avoid using unpublished information from a manuscript for personal or professional advantage.
7. Provide clear and evidence-based comments that help authors improve the manuscript.
8. Avoid personal criticism of authors.
9. Not attempt to influence citation practices for personal, institutional, or journal-level citation benefits.
10. Not use generative AI or other external technologies to process confidential manuscript content unless explicitly permitted by the journal and appropriate confidentiality safeguards are in place.

 

Corrections, Retractions, and Post-Publication Discussions

Ramatekno recognizes that maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record is an ongoing responsibility after publication.

The journal may publish a correction when a published article contains a limited error that does not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions.

The journal may issue an Expression of Concern when there are substantial unresolved concerns about the reliability or integrity of a publication while an investigation is ongoing or when available evidence is inconclusive.

The journal may retract an article when there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable because of major error or misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, serious ethical violations, or substantial redundant publication.

Retraction notices will clearly identify the affected article, explain the reason for retraction, and remain linked to the original publication where technically possible. The original article will not be removed from the scholarly record unless removal is legally required.

Ramatekno supports responsible post-publication discussion. Readers may raise substantive concerns about published articles through the journal's official communication channels. The journal will assess such concerns and, where appropriate, publish corrections, responses, comments, or other notices.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technologies

Ramatekno recognizes that generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used in scholarly research and writing. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts.

AI tools must not be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the content, disclose conflicts of interest, approve the final manuscript, or participate in accountability for the work.

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when such tools have materially contributed to the writing, analysis, generation, modification, or presentation of the manuscript, in accordance with the journal's applicable submission requirements.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, generate fraudulent references, manipulate research findings, create misleading images, or otherwise misrepresent scholarly work.

Authors are responsible for verifying all AI-generated content, including factual statements, citations, references, calculations, and interpretations.

Editors and reviewers must maintain confidentiality when handling manuscripts and should not upload confidential manuscript content into AI systems that may retain, reuse, or expose the material.

The use of AI-assisted technologies does not transfer responsibility for the manuscript from the authors to the technology provider. Human authors remain accountable for the final published work.

 

Ethical Commitment

Ramatekno is committed to protecting the integrity, reliability, and credibility of the scholarly record.

The journal applies ethical standards consistently across the editorial and publication process and expects authors, editors, reviewers, and other stakeholders to act with honesty, transparency, fairness, accountability, and respect for intellectual property.

When an ethical concern arises, Ramatekno will assess the matter based on the available evidence, relevant journal policies, applicable institutional or legal requirements, and appropriate COPE guidance.

The journal may update its publication ethics policies when new ethical challenges, publishing practices, technologies, or standards emerge.
